The First Annual MDEA Academy Awards

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out on Friday, May 17th to Centre Concord to celebrate the MDEA Academy Awards! It was a great success, and we are looking forward to next year.

CATASTROPHIC SICK LEAVE BANK INFO

All permanent unit members on active duty with the District are eligible to join the newly negotiated Catastrophic Sick Leave Bank (CSLB). Only contributors will be allowed to withdraw from the Bank.

Unit members must have at least twelve (12) sick leave entitlement days remaining after their initial deposit of one (1) sick day.

Unit members are eligible to use leave from the CSLB for their own catastrophic illness or injury only. Catastrophic illness is defined as any illness or injury that seriously incapacitates the unit member for more than ten (10) consecutive duty days. Catastrophic illness shall be determined by the CSLB Committee composed of two (2) MDEA members and one (1) District representative.

The maximum lifetime withdrawl by any unit member shall be seventy-five (75) days.
